With over 37 years experience in the road building business, I offer not only a report with a number but a vast knowledge of what to do with the information I provide.

I use the Ames Engineering Model 8300 High Speed profiler to do all my work. It comes with a GPS enabler that not only tells the vehicle “where it is” is space, but also correlates stations numbers, monitors speed, and does away with horizontal calibration. It is also connected to the vehicle’s OBD II port and can instantly switch to the vehicle’s speed information if the GPS signal is temporarily lost. Then, I can use the GPS data on a given profile to return and accurately lay out any areas of concern.

When it comes to reporting, I am able to provide reports in .pdf format, also as an Excel spreadsheet. I can produce Proval results and TxDOT “585” reports as well. I also have the ability to provide a video or a picture every 10’ (or more) of the view ahead of the vehicle. This comes in handy in many different instances! I can also provide .kml data which uses GPS information to produce an IRI graph superimposed in space “above” the view of the road profiled.
